3 Books and Lessons to Teach Making Connections

Hi There!

Looking for ideas on how to teach students all about making connections as they read books?  Check out the three mini lesson statements and watch the video to get more ideas on how to teach making connections with three specific books.

Here is a chart with three mini lesson statements and examples of how to frame your whole class discussion.  Fill out your charts with these organizers as you discuss each book with the class!

What Does It Mean To Be Present? I a great book about teaching kids to beauty of living in the moment.

Unlovable is a super cute book about a little dog who is teased by a cat who tells him no one loves him.  The dog is sad, until one day he meets another dog just like him.

Stephanie's Ponytail is a great book about learning to be yourself.  Stephanie goes to school and everyone copies her ponytail style.  She gets so mad she plays a trick on her whole class and even her teacher that no one will forget!
